The Morning Ritual

So I haven't really written about Reid's latest behaviors in a while... so here goes. Reid has been in daycare for the last few months. Just Mon, Thu and Fri for now and full-time in June. On those mornings that I have to drop him off things are a bit hectic. I wake up at 4:30 and watch the news just because I know that by 5am... he'll start kicking his feet in bed... WHAM!! WHAM!! He kicks the side of the crib. Then you hear a couple of sneezes and a cough... it's the same every time I swear. That's when I get up, start the bottle and turn on some lights. When I go into his room, he's still not really awake until I turn on the changing table light. I get out a diaper, a couple of wipes, his under-onesie, a shirt and try to find some pants to match. By then, he's been watching me for a couple of minutes... waiting for me to look at him... cuz when I do, he's all smiles... and then he starts kicking out of excitement and thrashing his head. So, I'll go talk to him in his crib for a minute or so and get him changed.

He seems to have developed some patience for getting a new "Di-pee" and clothes when really he just wants a bottle..... but he holds out. When I have him ready, I pick him up and he really gets excited... cuz the bottle is coming! He feverishly tries to get as much down as possible. So dang cute. When he's done, he bites the nipple and starts spitting milk. Then he laughs.
